On Floodgate, credit card data is 'Tokenised' which is ensuring the security of the customer's valuable information. What is the Toknisation?
When you enter a customer's credit card data into Step 2: Payment page with the internet connection, the data you added is sent to the client's *Payment Gateway straight away. Then, the payment gateway sends Floodgate a 'Token' to be used in place of the sensitive card data. The Token is stored in Floodgate and will be used in place of card data from there on. Floodgate does NOT store the sensitive card data after sending it to the Payment Gateway.
* Payment Gateway is a service with which clients process customer's payments.
You may not notice this at all, but all this 'Tokenising' process happens instantly after the completion of the card data on Step 2: Payment page.
When a token is NOT issued successfully (e.g. typo), you receive an error and you will not be able to submit the data with incorrect card data. When a token is issued successfully, a log like below is added to the 'Logs' pane.
